The Tubądzin Group partnered up with The Grand Theatre – National Opera, regarding the premiere of „Cardillac”, directed by Mariusz Treliński, which took place on 25 2021.

The 3-acts opera, composed by Paul Hindemith, with Ferdinand Liona as libretto, had its world premiere in 1926 in the Staatsoper in Dresden, Germany. The opera was created based on the novel “Mademoiselle de Scudéri” by E.T.A. Hoffmann.

Cardillac is a crime story around the murders of famous jeweler Cardillac. The stage was in the hands of Boris Kudlicka and the room of the main character was finished with tiles from Tubądzin. The creators of the staging wanted to display the production in the context of film noir, taking place in modern times, perhaps even the near future. The elegant white ceramic tiles of Tubądzin were the finishing touch in creating a city of the future.

Tubądzin has been cooperating with Boris Kudlicka since a few years – the preeminent set decorator is a member juror during the international competition Tubądzin awards, organized for architects and designers.

The Tubądzin Group has been supporting culture for years. The year was accompanied by “Culture of Surroundings” and a number of events, which was inaugurated with a partnership with the Grand Theatre – National Opera.

The cooperation between the Grand Theatre and the Tubądzin Group is a natural consequence of actions undertaken by both entities. On the one hand – the world class cultural institute – Grand Theatre – National Opera, inviting prestigious companies into cooperation, on the other hand the Tubądzin Group – one of the best recognized ceramic tiles producers in Poland, creating trends in for years.
