In 2021 the Tubądzin Group provides another powerful proof of the level of trust between culture and business by becoming the partner of the National Opera in Warsaw, Poland. The initiation of our cooperation with the Opera is the natural result of activities taken up by both parties. The main goal of both the Tubądzin Group and the National Opera is to provide inspiration, experiences, impressions and emotions, as well as beautiful spaces. The world class cultural institution like the Grand Theatre – National Opera, which invites prestigious business partners to cooperation allows for an even stronger development in the field of “Culture of Surroundings”. It resulted in the cooperation regarding the preparation of the opera Cardillac, which will be performed in three significant locations on the European map of culture: the Grand Theatre – National Opera in Warsaw, Poland, the Oper Köln in Cologne, Germany and the Teatro Real in Madrid, Spain.
The common goals and values shared by The Tubądzin Group and the Grand Theatre – National Opera in providing unique experiences associated with great culture and one-of-a-kind design, also results in an event cycle dedicated to architects.
This year we plan a joint organization of a cycle of inspiring events with architects to take place in the Grand Theatre, which will enlighten the theme “Culture of Surroundings”, which can be understood as the impact of culture on our surroundings and quality of life, particularly in the new, (post) pandemic times.
The premiere of our common project, the “Cardillac” opera, directed by Mariusz Treliński, will take place on 25 June at 18.00hrs. The opera, composed by Paul Hindemith, consisting of 3 acts, with libretto Ferdinand Lion had its world premiere in 1926 at the Staatsoper in Dresden, Germany. The opera is based on E.T.A. Hoffmann’s novel “Mademoiselle de Scudéri”. It will be the first Hindemith show on the Warsaw opera stage since 1962, as well as the first staging of “Cardillac”. The main character will be performed by baritone Tomasz Konieczny, who regularly performs this role at the Vienna Opera in Austria. The scenography of the production was directed by Boris Kudlička and the layout of the room of the main character consists of Tubądzin ceramic tiles. The stage creators wanted the show to be presented in a film noir style. The act itself is transported to modern times, perhaps even close to futuristic times. The elegant white Tubądzin ceramic tiles are ideally complement the scenography, showing the future city.
The Tubądzin Group has been cooperating with Boris Kudlička for many years. The outstanding scenographer is a jury member of the international competition for architects and designers, the Tubądzin Design Awards.
For many years, Tubądzin strives to connect business with art and humanism. It perfectly shows, that a seemingly simple object of use, like a ceramic tile, can actually be a carrier or a tool for art and its creators. For both the Grand Theatre – National Opera and the Tubądzin Group, the human being is at the center of attention.
We are extremely proud of our cooperation with the National Opera. It strenghtens us and provides huge possibilities of promoting and developing activities within the “Culture of Surroundings”… the culture of life itself.
