The Ceramika Tubądzin III production plant in Sieradz is equipped with state-of-the-art equipment and technologies to minimise environmental impact.

Ceramika Tubądzin III is aware of its role in caring for the environment and applies best practices that impact real environmental protection and a safe final product.

Raw materials

For the production of ceramic tiles and large format tiles, we import the highest quality mineral raw materials available on the market. These are natural fossil raw materials which are safe for people and the environment. The supplier confirms the quality of each batch delivered with an attached certificate. For decorating, we use colouring agents that are safe for health and the environment and do not contain harmful chemical compounds.

Preparation of the mass

In the preparation process, the raw materials are processed in a continuous modular mill. This modern device and the technological solutions applied enable the reduction of electrical energy by up to 40% compared to traditional batch mills. The technical solutions used in the granulate preparation process in the spray dryer applied in CT III allow using the waste hot air from the cooling zone of the tile kiln for drying the granulate, thanks to which the consumption of energy and natural gas is reduced by over 10%, which results in lower CO2 emission into the atmosphere.

Pressing

The heart of the plant is the modern Continua+ press used to form ceramic plates. The device consumes up to 75% less electricity compared to traditional presses used so far. The waste material generated during pressing is completely recycled and reused in the technological process.

Decorating and firing

We decorate the raw tiles using digital printing, which, in addition to high resolution and a wide range of colours and effects, also makes it easy and quick to change the decoration. This method also ensures optimal use of raw materials and a complete absence of waste.

The decorated semi-finished products are fired in an EKO Oven. Thanks to special burners that use warm air from the combustion zone, we save about 10% of natural gas, which results in lower carbon dioxide emissions to the environment by about 30% compared to traditional solutions.

Transport system

The factory uses battery-powered, self-propelled electric trolleys for inter-operational transport. Thanks to their use, we eliminate the use of LPG fuel, reducing energy consumption and emissions.

Water management

A considerable amount of water is used in ceramic plate production, polishing and edging. For this reason, CTIII has invested in a modern treatment plant, thanks to which all the water used works in a closed cycle and is ultimately returned to the process.

Packaging recovery and recycling

The tiles are packaged in cardboard boxes manufactured on-site using modern equipment that adjusts the size of the cut sheets to the packaged tiles. The machine glues all cuttings together, eliminating possible waste.

Ceramika Tubądzin III also meets its annual obligations under the Waste Act of 2012, which “sets out measures to protect the environment, human life and health preventing and reducing the negative impact on the environment and human health resulting from the production and management of waste, and reducing the overall impact of resource use and improving the efficiency of such use.” Acting out of concern for nature, we subject packaging put on the market to recovery and recycling processes.

Ceramic tiles from CTIII meet the criteria of an ecological material 100%. It is an all-natural, highly durable and nature-friendly material.
